Casa Grande Ruins National Monument

This weekend I had an opportunity to head to Coolidge, AZ and visit the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. It was a rather hot summer day in the desert, but I managed to spend some time outdoors exploring the ruins of this ancient village and learning about how the Hohokam natives use the land and resources to sustain their way of life. Interesting fact that I learned on this visit: Over 100 years ago, the water level was just about 12 feet below the surface in 1930. Today, the water level below the surface is nearly 100 feet.
